Gyeongnam Province Wins Grand Prize in Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 'Alley Economy Support Project'.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jucheol In] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 15th that its 'Gyeongnam-type Good Landlord Movement Activation' won the grand prize in the Good Landlord category at the 2021 Alley Economy Support Project Best Practices Contest hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
From July to September, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety held a contest for excellent cases of proactive administration targeting local governments and local public institutions, selecting a total of nine cases: seven in the alley economy recovery category and two in the good landlord category.
Metropolitan cities and provinces were only allowed to apply for the good landlord excellent case category, and Gyeongsangnam-do was the only metropolitan province to receive the Minister of the Interior and Safety’s institutional award and a prize of 4 million won in the Alley Economy Support Project Best Practices Contest.
To promote the activation of the Good Landlord Movement, Gyeongsangnam-do has been implementing measures such as property tax reductions through amendments to the local tax reduction ordinance, reductions in rental fees for public property, loans for small business owners’ management stabilization funds, free electrical safety inspections, and rent reductions for LH rental stores.
Kim Hyun-mi, head of the Small Business Policy Division of the province, said, "This selection is an achievement made possible by the cooperation of the public and private sectors," and added, "We ask for much interest and participation so that the Good Landlord Movement for spreading community culture can be widely expanded."
