[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that it held the 6th Annual General Meeting of the 'Global Cybersecurity Cooperation Network (CAMP)' online on the 15th, sharing cybersecurity policies among 61 institutions from 46 countries worldwide and exploring mutual cooperation measures.
This year's annual meeting focused on exploring cybersecurity policy directions necessary in the era of digital transformation. It shared the cybersecurity policies and technology development status of each country. A platform was also provided to promote companies and products to activate the overseas expansion of domestic information security companies.
The Ministry of Science and ICT introduced the K-Cyber Defense Promotion Strategy announced in February this year. To promote the overseas expansion of domestic companies, it introduced products and services from four information security companies including SenseTone, and also promoted an integrated online exhibition hall created to support exports of 566 domestic ICT companies.
In his opening remarks, Cho Kyung-sik, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, said, “CAMP, which was launched in 2016 with 29 countries and has now expanded to 46 countries, has grown into an international cooperation network that continuously shares cyber threat information and the latest security technology trends,” adding, “As we enter the era of digital transformation, the need for cybersecurity cooperation between countries has increased. We will strive to enable CAMP to serve as a catalyst for expanding cooperation among member countries.”
This CAMP annual meeting is being broadcast on the Korea Internet & Security Agency's YouTube channel.
CAMP is an international cybersecurity consultative body initiated by Korea in 2016. Through annual meetings, regional forums, and publication issuance, it shares cybersecurity policies and cyber threat response measures among countries.
