"Want to be an underwear model?" 30s Man Impersonating Female Shopping Mall CEO, Producing and Threatening with Child Sexual Exploitation Material

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A man in his 30s was sentenced to 10 years in prison for receiving body photos of underage girls under the pretense of looking for underwear models and producing sexual exploitation materials.

The Changwon District Court Criminal Division 4 (Presiding Judge Jang Yoo-jin) announced on the 12th that Mr. A, who was tried for violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles Against Sexual Abuse and the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Since last year, Mr. A was charged with impersonating female CEOs of famous shopping malls in Busan and Gyeongbuk areas, posting recruitment posts for models on SNS, making several teenagers including a 12-year-old child take body photos for interviews, and threatening them if they refused.

In addition, in February, Mr. A threatened a woman in her 20s whom he met at a hotel in Daegu by taking nude photos of her with his cellphone and demanding about 80,000 won.

The court stated the sentencing reason, “The defendant continued committing crimes even during the probation period, and it seems difficult to correct his behavior with lenient punishment and probation anymore.”
