[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Solueta, a company listed on KOSDAQ, announced on the 12th that it has appointed Yang Sam-ju, former Executive Director of Lotte Chemical, as its Chief Operating Officer (COO).
New COO Yang Sam-ju is an industry expert who has been with Lotte Chemical (formerly Cheil Industries) since 1989. He has served as head of the Chemical Business R&D team and director of the Global Marketing Center. After the merger with Samsung SDI, he was responsible for strategic procurement in the chemical business, and following the launch of Lotte Advanced Materials, he served as head of the Americas branch and director of the PC Business Division.
At Solueta, he plans to strengthen the core business capabilities, including electromagnetic wave shielding materials and hydrogen fuel cell materials through subsidiaries. He intends to leverage his know-how in research and development, sales, procurement, and mid-to-long-term strategy accumulated in the industry, as well as his experience with related sectors such as home appliances, mobile phones, and automobiles, to develop the business.
Yang Sam-ju, COO of Solueta, said, "Based on over 30 years of experience in the global chemical and materials market, I will contribute to growing Solueta into a global advanced materials company. I will strive to create synergy in future growth business areas through close collaboration among the various materials-related departments."
Solueta currently supplies electromagnetic wave shielding and blocking materials for smartphones to companies such as Apple and Samsung. The company is expanding its business scope to IT, TV, and automotive applications. Additionally, through its subsidiaries, it is preparing to commercialize promising materials and components for future growth engines, such as hydrogen fuel cell gaskets for hydrogen vehicles.
