Hyosung TNC Participates in Jeju Beach Eco-Friendly Project

Supply of Recycled Fibers 'Regen Jeju' and 'Regen' on Large Banners and Bags

Hyosung TNC Participates in Jeju Beach Eco-Friendly Project

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Hyosung TNC is participating in an eco-friendly project held in the Iho Tewoo Beach area of Jeju Island, together with Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and Jeju Tourism Organization.

Hyosung TNC will take part in the 'Filter' project, an eco-friendly popup exhibition and store at Iho Tewoo Beach, hosted by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and organized by Jeju Tourism Organization, from the 10th to the 23rd for two weeks. Hyosung TNC will supply recycled fibers 'regen® jeju' and 'regen®' for the large banners and bags featured in this project.

The Filter popup exhibition and store is divided into a photo zone where visitors can take pictures with large banners made from regen® jeju as the background, and a popup space where products such as bags made from recycled materials can be purchased. The bags are made from clothing donated by Nike and regen fibers.

The Filter project was planned to meaningfully revitalize the Iho Tewoo beach area, which sees fewer visitors outside the summer season, and to raise awareness about the importance of the environment.

The regen® jeju used in this project is a recycled fiber brand made from PET bottles collected in Jeju Island, developed by Hyosung TNC in collaboration with Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and Jeju Development Corporation.

This is the third time Hyosung TNC has participated in a project utilizing eco-friendly fibers within Jeju Island. Last year, they launched bags with Pleats Mama featuring regen® jeju, and this year, they released clothing in collaboration with The North Face.

Meanwhile, Hyosung TNC is raising awareness for marine environmental protection by producing 'regen ocean,' a polyester recycled fiber made from PET bottles collected from incoming and outgoing ships, and 'Mipan regen ocean,' a nylon recycled fiber made from discarded fishing nets.
