On the 6th (local time), IT specialized media SamMobile reported that Samsung Electronics is aiming to launch the S21 FE in January next year.
According to SamMobile, Samsung Electronics plans to quietly release the S21 FE in January next year without holding an online unpacked event, unlike its predecessor ‘Galaxy S20 FE’, and will distribute press releases instead. Given the hot response with over one million units sold domestically of the 3rd generation foldable smartphones ‘Galaxy Z Fold3’ and ‘Galaxy Z Flip3’, it is analyzed that Samsung is likely to focus on foldable phones in the second half of this year.
The S21 FE is a quasi-premium product that maintains the core features of the flagship ‘Galaxy S’ series while lowering the price. It was originally expected to be released in August this year but faced difficulties such as abruptly halting production preparations due to the global semiconductor parts shortage.
However, it is analyzed that the possibility of Samsung Electronics simultaneously releasing its next-generation flagship smartphone ‘Galaxy S22’ series, which was rumored to be launched early at the end of this year, and the S21 FE in January next year is very low. SamMobile predicted that Samsung will postpone the unveiling plan later than initially expected and hold the unpacked event for the S22 series before the world’s largest telecommunications exhibition ‘Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022’ in February next year.
