Lee Jae-myung Suncheon Camp Chief Denies 'Resignation Rumors' Related to National Petition

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, Suncheon region election camp chief, recently dismissed rumors circulating in the local political circles about his resignation, saying, "That is not true at all."

The person in charge, Attorney A, was at the center of controversy and various rumors after a petition titled "Police Favoritism Investigation" was posted on the Blue House website on the 16th of last month.

The post on the Blue House petition stated that the petitioner had filed a complaint against Attorney A for violating the Attorney Act, but the investigating police decided to dismiss the case (no charges), calling it a "favoritism investigation."

The petitioner claimed, "Attorney A demanded 20 million won in cash, saying he knew the presiding court well, even for a case he was not handling."

These claims of "police favoritism investigation" by the petitioner and the accusations against Attorney A were reported in the media but are no longer visible on the petition site. The Blue House made the post private, citing it as "a post that could influence the election."

Regarding this, Attorney A stated, "In fact, I have nothing to do with it and do not know about it."

Attorney A participated in the event "Suncheon Youth Stand with Lee Jae-myung," held in front of Suncheon City Hall around 11 a.m. on the 6th, and the resignation rumors were settled as false.

Citizen B said, "Attorney A, who ran for Suncheon mayor in the last election, is a politician, not a private individual," and pointed out, "He is in a position where he must actively clarify various suspicions and rumors."
