Microsoft Officially Releases Windows 11

[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Microsoft (MS) officially launched Windows 11 on the 5th.

According to MS, Windows 11 was introduced in more than 190 countries worldwide, including South Korea.

It is available not only on new PCs but also through free upgrades on Windows 10-based PCs that meet the minimum hardware requirements.

New PCs equipped with Windows 11 have started selling from manufacturers such as Surface, ASUS, HP, and Lenovo. Samsung, Acer, Dell, and others are expected to release Windows 11-based products in the future.

Windows 11 supports users' creativity, leisure, and learning regardless of location. The centrally located Start menu allows users to access content and apps of interest more quickly. Through cloud services and Microsoft 365 (sold separately), it also syncs with Android or iOS-based devices, enabling users to continue their work anytime and anywhere.

The collaboration platform Teams on the taskbar helps users stay connected. Chatting, voice, and video calls are possible regardless of the other party’s device or platform, whether Windows, Android, or iOS. Widgets provide AI-based personalized feeds, helping users quickly obtain the information they care about most.

Through the Store, users can easily and widely enjoy their favorite apps, movies, dramas, and other entertainment content. New apps such as Disney Plus and Zoom are available. Collaboration with Amazon and Intel will enable the use of Android apps on PCs as well.

Windows 11 enhances multitasking experiences and improves work and gaming efficiency.

The Snap feature increases work efficiency by allowing users to split windows in their preferred layout when performing multiple tasks simultaneously, such as writing emails or editing documents. The Desktop feature lets users divide PC space and set wallpapers according to purposes like work, gaming, or study, enhancing focus.

The touch environment has also been improved. Icons on the taskbar are larger, spacing between icons is wider, and animations are applied when moving or resizing windows. Additional gestures make touch operations easier.

Windows 11 provides haptic feedback that allows users to feel vibrations when clicking or editing with stylus pens such as the Surface Slim Pen 2 (sold separately), enhancing immersion.

Windows 11 also improves the gaming environment. The Auto HDR feature converts over 1,000 games made with DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 versions to HDR, allowing users to enjoy games with more vivid and colorful visuals. The built-in Xbox app in Windows 11 offers over 100 PC games through Xbox Game Pass or Ultimate membership subscriptions.

Detailed information about the latest features of MS’s next-generation operating system, Windows 11, can be found on the official website.
