[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] On the 1st, about 236,000 people received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and approximately 860,000 people completed their vaccination.
According to the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team (Promotion Team) on the 2nd, the number of new first-dose vaccinations the previous day was 236,268, and the number of completed vaccinations was 859,970. The total number of new first and second doses administered in one day was 1,096,238.
By vaccine type, the number of first-dose recipients was 140,493 for Moderna, 92,585 for Pfizer, 2,659 for Janssen, and 531 for AstraZeneca (AZ). The cumulative number of vaccinated individuals reached 39,585,265, accounting for 77.1% of the total population (51,349,116 as of December last year).
Looking at cumulative first-dose recipients by vaccine, Pfizer had 21,147,311, AstraZeneca 11,092,260, and Moderna 5,902,03.
The cumulative number of Janssen vaccine recipients was 1,445,491. Since the Janssen vaccine requires only one dose, those vaccinated with Janssen are included in both first and second dose counts.
Among those newly completing their second dose the previous day (859,970), the breakdown by vaccine was 617,046 for Pfizer, 204,582 for Moderna, and 35,683 for AstraZeneca.
The number of people who completed AstraZeneca vaccination was counted as 42,137, but among them, 6,454 had their first dose with AstraZeneca and received a second dose with Pfizer as a mixed vaccination.
Thus, the total number of people who completed both doses increased to 26,574,685. This corresponds to 51.8% of the population and 60.2% based on the population aged 18 and over.
The cumulative number of completed vaccinations by vaccine type is 1,430,592 for AstraZeneca (including 1,633,120 mixed vaccinations), 12,512,479 for Pfizer, 2,186,123 for Moderna, and the remainder are Janssen recipients.
Regarding vaccination rates by gender, women had a slightly higher rate than men. Among 25,746,790 eligible women, 77.7% (20,009,623) completed their first dose, higher than men, who had a 76.5% rate (19,575,642 out of 25,602,326).
As of midnight on this day, the completion rate was 53.5% for women and 50.0% for men, with both genders having more than half of the eligible population fully vaccinated.
By age group, the highest vaccination completion rate was among those in their 70s at 90.0%, followed by those in their 60s at 88.4%, those aged 80 and above at 80.1%, and those in their 50s at 76.1%.
As of midnight on this day, the total remaining vaccine doses in the country were 17,896,100.
By vaccine type, there were 6,739,400 doses of Moderna, 6,508,900 doses of Pfizer, 4,420,700 doses of AstraZeneca, and 227,100 doses of Janssen.
