[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Home&Shopping (CEO Kim Ok-chan) announced on the 29th that it has delivered 100 million KRW in production costs for small business support content to the Small Business Broadcasting Information Center to support small merchants in traditional markets struggling due to COVID-19 and to help revitalize the local economy.

The 100 million KRW support fund provided by Home&Shopping will be used for the production of the small business broadcasting program "Human Documentary Market People." This program will portray the lives of small merchants protecting the markets, the stories of ordinary people visiting these places, and the scenes of traditional markets advancing through change and innovation.

In October, the program will cover four markets nationwide, including Seoul's Kkachisan Market and Seoul's Yeongcheon Market, broadcasting the unique characteristics of each market and introducing excellent stores within the markets. In particular, it plans to introduce popular tteokbokki shops and grilled short rib patties stores in Seoul's Yeongcheon Market, well-known among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), to evoke empathy from the MZ generation, who are relatively distant from traditional markets, thereby helping to revitalize the local economy.

A Home&Shopping official said, "We planned and expedited the production of this program with the hope that the national support funds would be used mainly in traditional markets and by small merchants," adding, "Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and its resurgence, there is a great need for attention to help small merchants and traditional markets that are especially struggling."
