'Right! EARTH' 4th Story 'Respect for Life'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Galleria Department Store announced on the 29th that it will showcase the 4th project of 'Right! EARTH,' the 'Vegan Tiger' pop-up store, at Gwanggyo and Daejeon Timeworld.
Since August 27, Galleria has been running the 'Right! EARTH' project, which proposes ways to cherish and protect the environment and life, and will present five exhibitions and eco-friendly product pop-up stores related to the project until November 4.
So far, they have held pop-ups such as the design studio 'Weekend Lab,' which pursues sustainable design; 'Giljong Sangga,' showcasing works inspired by renewable energy; and the plant interior brand 'With Plants,' which conveys environmental protection messages through plant-based packaging.
As the 4th project, they are hosting the pop-up of Korea's first vegan fashion brand 'Vegan Tiger,' presenting various fashion items symbolizing 'respect for life.' A notable feature is that they developed patterns and motifs representing small lives on Earth, including companion animals.
For this project, Galleria collaborated with the brand 'Vegan Tiger' and fashion model Shin Hyun-ji. 'Vegan Tiger' is a vegan fashion brand that creates an ethical consumption cycle using only non-animal materials, and model Shin Hyun-ji is an animal lover who was the first Asian model to close a Chanel runway show and became interested in abandoned animals after adopting a pet dog.
Together, they developed patterns and motifs symbolizing 'respect for life' and applied them to hoodies, sweatshirts, scarves, pants, etc. The materials used include ▲recycled materials ▲plant-based polyester ▲organic cotton, all eco-friendly materials. The shopping bags provided with purchases feature designs and messages symbolizing the protection of abandoned animals. A portion of the proceeds from products sold through this pop-up will be donated to animal welfare activities.
Since 2018, Galleria has been conducting activities respecting the lives of companion animals through the 'PARAN Project,' supporting core projects of animal protection organizations, ending dog meat consumption projects, and supporting new lives for abandoned animals. This year, through 'Galleria Friends,' they support not only animal protection organizations but also individual activists leading animal protection efforts and small private shelters facing operational difficulties. About 60 abandoned dogs and cats have found new lives this year through 'Galleria Friends.'
