[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] A man in his 20s who received a COVID-19 vaccine died ten days after vaccination, prompting health authorities to launch an investigation.

According to health authorities, Mr. A, a man in his 20s living in Seongju-gun, Gyeongbuk, collapsed after having a seizure while visiting ancestral graves with his family around 5:40 a.m. on the 27th.

Mr. A was then taken to the hospital emergency room but passed away around 6:34 a.m.

Previously, Mr. A had received his first dose of the Moderna vaccine on the 17th and reportedly showed no abnormal reactions afterward.

The authorities plan to determine the cause of death through an autopsy and epidemiological investigation.

So far, a total of 73 deaths have been recorded in Gyeongbuk following COVID-19 vaccination. By vaccine type, there were 38 deaths after Pfizer, 31 after AstraZeneca, and 4 after Moderna.

Meanwhile, on the 28th, a public official also died after receiving the Moderna vaccine in Changwon, Gyeongnam.

Mr. B, a male public official in his 50s working at Changwon City Hall, showed abnormal symptoms such as fever and cough after receiving the Moderna vaccine on July 30th. He was hospitalized for treatment on the 2nd of this month but ultimately died of sepsis. Mr. B reportedly had no underlying health conditions.
