Sinan-gun 'The Everlasting Flower of Love' Celosia Exhibition

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] From the 28th of this month to the 30th of next month, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, will hold the "Unchanging Flower of Love, Celosia" exhibition at the (Old) Byeongpung Branch School in Byeongpungdo, displaying 31 Celosia-themed paintings from the county's collection.

According to the county, the "Unchanging Flower of Love, Celosia" exhibition features vibrant and high-quality paintings by nine artists, including Park Dong-shin, known as Korea's Lautrec who devoted his life to painting Celosia; Kim Ji-won, widely recognized as a Celosia artist both domestically and internationally; and Park Mi-hwa, Kim Woo-sung, Kim Jong-jun, Ahn Yoon-mo, Ahn Hye-kyung, Woo Yong-min, and Choi Seok-woon, all recipients of the Park Soo-geun Art Award.

Sinan-gun, the "1004 Islands," is promoting the "One Island, One Museum" policy along with the initiative of islands blooming with flowers in all four seasons. Each island cultivates distinctive seasonal flowers, making Sinan's islands a vast garden floating on the sea.

In Byeongpungdo, where the "Unchanging Flower of Love, Celosia" exhibition is held, Celosia creates a spectacular view in October, and the Celosia Festival is held annually from October 1st.

Facing the red Celosia blooming all over the island against the backdrop of the coral-colored blue sea is truly a magnificent sight that should be included in one's life bucket list. On the blue sea, the red island, at the end of the island, you can follow the stepping stone path to Soakdo, the starting point of the 12 Apostles Pilgrimage Trail.

County Governor Park Woo-ryang said, "Sinan-gun, the 1004 Islands, is a vast garden floating on the sea with a natural landscape where various flowers bloom in all four seasons, and wherever you go, you can find special art galleries and museums closely connected to the local community."
