‘The Beginning of Romance and Excitement’ Popularity of Living in Mokpo for a Week

4th Session 'Immersed in Literature' 40 Teams Selected

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] The “Start of Romance and Excitement! One Week Living in Mokpo” project, promoted by Mokpo City and the Mokpo Cultural Foundation in Jeollanam-do, is heating up with enthusiastic participation.

According to the city on the 28th, 30 teams participated, and the 1st to 3rd sessions held during August and September have concluded. Participants posted content related to Mokpo that they experienced through this project daily on their SNS.

Specifically, during their stay in Mokpo, they uploaded 391 posts on Instagram, 44 on blogs, 24 on Facebook, and 12 on YouTube, and they continue to post even after the sessions ended.

The 4th session, “Immersed in Literature,” scheduled for October, has seen a higher application rate with 50 teams applying, thanks to word of mouth from participants of the 1st to 3rd sessions.

Accordingly, the city will select an additional 10 teams on top of the existing 30 teams, conducting the 4th session with a total of 40 teams so that more people can experience the charm of Mokpo.

The 4th session will be held from October 7 to 10, coinciding with the “2021 Mokpo Literature Expo,” the Mokpo Autumn Festival, and the Mokpo Marine W Show, allowing participants to enjoy various cultural and artistic contents and fully experience the autumn atmosphere of Mokpo.

A city official said, “The 4th session has been prepared more richly by addressing the shortcomings of the 1st to 3rd sessions,” adding, “It will be a time to enjoy both literature and tourism in Mokpo, where you can feel the breath of Korea’s modern literature masters.”
