Huons Global Signs Research Agreement with Lafle on Vitamin C-Based Anticancer Drug

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Huons Global announced on the 28th that it has signed a business agreement with the bio-venture company Raple to research vitamin C-based cancer treatment therapies.

The two companies signed a business agreement for strategic business partnership on the 27th at Raple's headquarters in Pangyo, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. Through technology exchange and business cooperation, Huons Global plans to commercialize vitamin diagnostic kits developed by Raple, as well as inducers that enhance the efficacy of vitamin C and treatments for lymphedema.

Raple's vitamin cancer diagnostic kit predicts the anticancer effects of megavitamin therapy, which involves administering high doses of vitamins. It is being developed to maximize the anticancer treatment effects of vitamin C while minimizing side effects. Clinical trials began in February this year targeting domestic cancer patients, with commercialization expected in 2022.

Additionally, Raple is preparing domestic and international patent applications for inducers that enhance the efficacy of vitamin C. The lymphedema treatment will confirm safety through non-clinical trials in 2022 and enter clinical research at specialized lymphedema hospitals in 2023.

Furthermore, Raple holds pipelines for candidate substances for pain and cachexia treatment using vitamin C. Huons Global also expects synergy with its affiliates that have strengths in high-dose vitamin fields, such as Merit-C injections.
