Mokpo City Signs Business Agreement for Construction of Public Pediatric Rehabilitation Medical Center in Jeonnam Region

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seung-hyun Jeong] Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 27th that it signed a business agreement with Mokpo Jungang Hospital, the project executing institution, to successfully promote the ‘2021 Public Children’s Rehabilitation Medical Center’ construction project.


At the signing ceremony, Mayor Kim Jong-sik of Mokpo and Director Lee Seung-taek of Mokpo Jungang Hospital attended and signed the agreement outlining the roles of both institutions for the construction of the Public Children’s Rehabilitation Medical Center.


According to the agreement, the city will provide administrative support for the construction of the Jeonnam region Public Children’s Rehabilitation Medical Center, and Mokpo Jungang Hospital will operate the center solidly by securing essential personnel for the construction, equipment purchase, and operation of the center.


This project follows the selection of Mokpo Jungang Hospital for the ‘2021 Public Children’s Rehabilitation Medical Center Construction Project’ led by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The center, with one basement floor and three above-ground floors, is being developed with the goal of opening in 2024 and accommodating at least 50 users per day.


Mayor Kim Jong-sik of Mokpo said, “Once the Jeonnam region Public Children’s Rehabilitation Medical Center is established, appropriate rehabilitation treatment according to the life cycle will become possible for disabled children who have had difficulties in rehabilitation therapy. We expect it to become a reliable guardian for families of disabled children.”


Director Lee Seung-taek of Mokpo Jungang Hospital stated, “We will strive to become a hospital that develops together with the local community by providing customized rehabilitation medical services through the establishment of an advanced children’s rehabilitation system to support proper rehabilitation treatment for disabled children.”
