[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] On the 27th, the National Assembly's Environment and Labor Committee selected Han Seong-suk, CEO of Naver, as a witness for the national audit.
CEO Han was chosen as a witness regarding workplace harassment and organizational culture issues. In May, after an employee made an extreme choice, controversy over workplace harassment arose within Naver. Recently, allegations of workplace harassment have also been raised at Happy Bean, a public interest foundation.
Previously, Democratic Party members of the Environment and Labor Committee attempted to select Kim Beom-su, Chairman of Kakao's Board, and Lee Hae-jin, Naver's Global Investment Officer (GIO), as witnesses, but this effort was unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, the Political Affairs Committee finalized the selection of Chairman Kim as a witness on the same day, and it is expected that Chairman Kim will attend the National Assembly audit for the first time in three years since 2018.
