[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Doosan Fuel Cell is exporting hydrogen fuel cells overseas for the first time in Korea. The hydrogen fuel cells from Doosan Fuel Cell, scheduled for export to China, will supply heating and cooling to apartments and buildings in the Nanhai area of Foshan City.
On the 27th, Doosan Fuel Cell held a shipment ceremony at its production plant located in Iksan, Jeollabuk-do, to commemorate its first overseas export of hydrogen fuel cells. The event was attended by Park Ki-young, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy; Shin Won-sik, Deputy Governor for Political Affairs of Jeollabuk-do; Jung Heon-yul, Mayor of Iksan; and Yoo Soo-kyung, CEO of Doosan Fuel Cell.
Doosan Fuel Cell will install four 440kW hydrogen fuel cells as distributed power sources in the Nanhai area of Foshan City, China, supplying electricity and heating and cooling to apartments and buildings. They will also support hydrogen fuel cell installation, commissioning, and long-term maintenance (Long-Term Service Agreement), and actively cooperate in the future development and expansion of the hydrogen fuel cell power generation market in China.
CEO Yoo said, "This overseas export is the first fruit of active government support for fostering the hydrogen ecosystem and collaboration with several partners, including Destin Power, which jointly developed the power conversion system (PCS) for hydrogen fuel cells, as well as Hi-Air Korea and J&L Tech. Based on this first export, we will continue efforts to expand the market by supplying hydrogen fuel cells to Shandong Province, Beijing area, and others."
Meanwhile, as of last year, the installed capacity of power generation hydrogen fuel cells in major countries was 601MW in Korea, 483MW in the United States, and 313MW in Japan. The global power generation fuel cell market size is expected to increase to 12.7?25.4GW by 2030.
