Lexus Launches Premium Hybrid Sedan 'New ES' Starting at 61.9 Million KRW

Official Launch of the New ES Representing Electrified Models

Lexus Korea announced on the 27th that it will hold an online launch event for the premium hybrid sedan representing Lexus's electrified models, the New ES, and will begin full-scale sales. Nobuyuki Takemura, President of Lexus Korea, is introducing the New ES 300h and New ES 300h F SPORT models.

[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Lexus Korea announced on the 27th that it held an online launch event for the premium hybrid sedan representing Lexus electrified models, the ‘New ES,’ and officially began sales.

The ‘New ES’ is a facelift model of the 7th generation ES, which has been loved for its comfortable ride, excellent quietness, and spacious interior.

Along with some exterior design changes, safety and convenience have been further enhanced with evolved preventive safety technologies, strengthened convenience features, and standard installation of a black box and Hi-Pass system.

The exterior of the New ES 300h emphasizes a wide image with an ‘L-Shape’ unit front grille, and the headlamps have been updated with rectangular LED lenses. The daytime running lights and front turn signals have been refined to be more three-dimensional, expressing a sophisticated and elegant image.

The interior features meticulous finishing by Lexus artisans (Takumi) and premium materials.

The upper and lower two-split seats with excellent seating comfort and the spacious second-row space offer Lexus’s unique comfort. The newly applied 12.3-inch large high-resolution monitor with touchscreen functionality has been positioned 112mm forward compared to before, improving driver operability.

The ES’s strong hybrid system is equipped with a 2.5ℓ D-4S gasoline engine, a large-capacity battery, and two powerful motors, allowing driving at low speeds using only the motors depending on the charge status, and enabling simultaneous driving and charging. It delivers excellent fuel efficiency of 17.2 km/ℓ (New ES 300h) and 16.8 km/ℓ (New ES 300h F SPORT) based on combined fuel economy standards.

The Lexus Safety System Plus (LSS+), which helps ensure safe driving, has also been enhanced. Newly applied features include an emergency braking assist system (PCS) with an expanded detection range, dynamic radar cruise control (DRCC) with added curve deceleration function, and emergency steering assist (ESA) support.

Additionally, Lexus has launched the New ES 300h ‘F SPORT’ model for the first time. This model features a distinctive design with an F SPORT exclusive mesh pattern grille, F SPORT emblem, sports seats, and 19-inch wheels.

It offers a more dynamic driving experience through the application of electronically controlled variable suspension (AVS), which precisely controls damping force according to driving conditions, and a drive mode selector supporting sporty driving.

The recommended retail prices for the Lexus New ES 300h are 61.9 million KRW for the Luxury, 64 million KRW for the Luxury Plus, and 68.6 million KRW for the Executive.
