45 Organizations' 'Government Innovation Achievements' to Be Directly Evaluated by the Public

45 Organizations' 'Government Innovation Achievements' to Be Directly Evaluated by the Public

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 27th that it will publicly recruit a citizen evaluation group to assess the government innovation performance of central administrative agencies for this year, from the 28th to October 6th, for 9 days.

Since 2017, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety has conducted annual citizen evaluations targeting central administrative agencies (45 agencies in 2021) to ensure all ministries continuously pursue innovation and create innovation outcomes that citizens can feel. The citizen evaluation group consists of 200 members this year as well, following last year, and holds significant weight in the government innovation evaluation, playing a major role.

Additionally, the citizen evaluation group will participate as judges alongside private experts in the '2021 Government Innovation Best Practices Integrated Competition' grand final held on October 26th. The grand final is conducted by having agencies present their best practices, which passed the first round of document screening and the second round of public voting, on-site for judging and awarding.

Han Chang-seop, Director of the Government Innovation Organization Office, said, “The goal of government innovation is to improve the lives of citizens,” adding, “The government will strive harder to produce outcomes that citizens want and ensure those outcomes lead to changes in citizens’ lives.”
