Jeonnam Province to Operate Temporary Screening Clinics on Highways Until the End of October

The province announced on the 26th that it will extend the operation of temporary screening clinics until the end of October in preparation for the continued increase in confirmed cases due to the Chuseok holiday impact.

From the 18th to the 25th of this month, a total of 46,392 people were tested at temporary screening clinics in the Jeonnam area, detecting 13 confirmed cases early. These clinics serve as a quarantine gateway to prevent the inflow of infections within the region.

Following the sharp increase in confirmed cases after Chuseok, the province continues to strongly recommend proactive preemptive testing. They urge those who have contacted family, relatives, or acquaintances living in other regions or visited other regions during the holiday to get tested even if they have no symptoms.

In particular, the temporary screening clinics, which were originally scheduled to operate until the end of this month, will be extended until next month to minimize the spread within the region, including secondary infections from contact with confirmed cases.

The currently operating temporary screening clinics are located at Baekyangsa, Seomjingang, Boseong Green Tea, and Hampyeongcheonji highway rest areas, Suncheon Palma Gymnasium, Yeonggwang Bus Terminal, Bulgapsa, Yeongam Hanmaeum Hall, Namak Complex Community Center, and Naju Bitgaram-dong Community Center, totaling 10 locations.

Anyone can get tested for free, and results are notified individually. Operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We hope people actively undergo preemptive testing to protect the health of their family, acquaintances, and coworkers from COVID-19.”
