[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] On the 26th, Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, criticized the recent statement by Kim Yo-jong, Deputy Director of the Workers' Party of Korea, saying, "Not even receiving an apology for North Korea's demolition of the Inter-Korean Joint Liaison Office building and then rebuilding it shows a lack of pride."

On the same day, Lee shared Kim's statement on his Facebook, in which she mentioned the possibility of discussing a declaration to end the war, reestablishment of the liaison office, and inter-Korean summits, and made the above remarks.

He said, "Demolishing and then reopening cannot be considered progress in inter-Korean relations," adding, "If the two sides just hold hands briefly, turn left, and then turn right again, they end up in the same place."

He continued, "A declaration to end the war could send the wrong signal of tolerating nuclear possession through 'mutual respect,' as North Korea claims," and asserted, "It is about gaining a liaison office and summit that can be demolished again at any time."
