According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 25th, 536,000 people applied on the 19th day since the national support fund application began, on the 24th (as of 6 p.m.), and 134 billion KRW was paid. Since the application started on the 6th, the cumulative number of applicants is 4.597 million, and the cumulative payment amount is 10.1493 trillion KRW.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety has estimated the number of eligible recipients for the national support fund at 43.26 million. This means that 93.8% of all eligible recipients have received the support fund. This corresponds to 78.5% of the total population. By payment method, 30.167 million people (74.3%) used credit/debit cards, 6.708 million people (16.5%) used local love gift certificates, and 3.722 million people (9.2%) used prepaid cards.
As of 6 p.m. the previous day, the cumulative number of appeals was 339,809 (199,794 online via the National Petition System and 140,015 offline at town and township offices). The main reasons for appeals were health insurance premium adjustments (140,393 cases, 41.3%) and household composition changes (118,784 cases, 35.0%).
The national support fund is paid at 250,000 KRW per person to the bottom 88% income bracket. Online applications started on the 6th, followed by offline applications starting on the 13th. The weekday system based on the last digit of the birth year has been lifted for both online and offline applications, allowing applications regardless of birth year.
For offline applications, to receive the national support fund via credit/debit card, applicants can visit the bank linked to their card. To receive the fund via prepaid cards or paper-type local love gift certificates, applicants can visit the resident center of their local town or township office. The application deadline is October 29.
