[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) held the 30th Dongdaemun-gu Resident Award Ceremony at Dongdaemun-gu Office on the 24th.

At the ceremony, awards were presented to 14 recipients selected as this year’s Resident Award winners.

This year’s Dongdaemun-gu Resident Award recipients (organizations) are ▲ Proud Resident Award (Grand Prize: Jeonnong 2-dong Village Event Promotion Committee, Gold Prize: Hong Tae-cheol) ▲ Parent Award (Grand Prize: Shin Seo-yeon, Gold Prize: Lim Won-pyeong) ▲ Filial Piety Award (Grand Prize: Lee Eun-joo, Gold Prize: Lee Seung-seon) ▲ Volunteer Award (Grand Prize: Hong Seung-won, Gold Prize: Baek Hyun-ok) ▲ Model Youth Award (Grand Prize: Son Da-young, Gold Prize: Lee Soo-yeon) △ Disabled Person Award (Grand Prize: Jeon Seon-ok, Gold Prize: Kim Byung-taek) △ Multicultural Family Award (Grand Prize: Jeon Hyun-hee, Gold Prize: Jang Lin-jing).

The Jeonnong 2-dong Village Event Promotion Committee, selected as the Grand Prize winner in the Proud Resident Award category, was recognized for its contribution to community building by actively participating every year in events such as the Baebongsan Sunrise Rice Cake Soup Sharing Event, Baebong Harmony Festival, Chuseok Residents’ One-Heart Folk Festival, and Senior Citizens’ Party.

Shin Seo-yeon, who lovingly raised three children born from the heart, helping them overcome disabilities, gave birth to a fourth child to form a harmonious large family, and set an example for her children by volunteering with her family to help neighbors in need, received the Grand Prize in the Parent Award category. Hong Seung-won, who was awarded the Red Cross Volunteer Hours Award for 2,000 hours and has officially volunteered over 3,000 hours since 2006 in various fields including parent volunteer groups, homeless relief, and elderly care, received the Grand Prize in the Volunteer Award category.

The district held a judging committee meeting on September 8th for 30 candidates recommended for the Dongdaemun-gu Resident Award from July 14th to August 20th and selected 14 final recipients.

Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “We held the Resident Award ceremony to discover and widely promote exemplary residents and organizations who serve as role models in various fields of the local community and to foster a bright and healthy social atmosphere. I thank all residents who have quietly done their best in their respective fields even during difficult times.”

On the morning of the 24th, Chae Hyun-il, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, attended the Public Officials Ethics Committee member appointment ceremony held in the communication room of the district office.

Before the main meeting of the committee, Mayor Chae presented appointment letters to five reappointed and newly appointed civilian members and spent time communicating with the members.

The appointed members will perform roles such as reviewing public officials’ asset registration details and requesting disciplinary actions against those who violate the Public Officials Ethics Act for two years.

Mayor Chae asked the committee members to do their best so that public official ethics trusted by residents can be established through their strong sense of duty.
