Professor Hong Seong-tae of the Department of Global Business Appointed as New President of Sangmyung University

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Professor Hong Seongtae of the Department of Global Business at Sangmyung University has been appointed as the 14th president of Sangmyung University.

The Sangmyung Academy Foundation appointed Professor Hong Seongtae as the 14th president at the board meeting held on the 24th. The term of the new president will be four years starting from September 27.

President Hong entered the Department of Business Administration at Seoul National University in 1981 and earned his master's and doctoral degrees in business administration from the same graduate school. He gained field experience working at the Bank of Korea and KT.

After being appointed as a professor at Sangmyung University in 1998, he held key positions on campus including Vice President of the Seoul Campus, Director of Planning, Director of Academic Affairs, Director of Research, and Dean of the College of Business Administration. He also served as president of the Korean Association of Air Transport Management.
