Expressing Hope and Positive Energy in Life Through the Theme of Cotton
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Geun-gi) announced that it will hold an autumn special invitational exhibition titled "The Story of Mokhwa" at Gallery 107 and Street Gallery from September 28 to November 3.
This exhibition features over 30 works by artist Lee Hye-kyung. These large-scale works are created with the theme of Mokhwa from Gokseong Gyeommyeon, embodying hope and positive energy in life.
Artist Lee Hye-kyung graduated from the Department of Art Education at Chosun University and has been actively exhibiting, holding 11 solo exhibitions. She has served as a judge for the Korea Art Exhibition and as vice chairman of the Korea Fine Arts Association, and has received the Gwangju Arts and Culture Award and the Wonjin Art Award.
Critic Son Cheong-mun commented on Lee Hye-kyung’s works, saying, “The cotton flowers, where realism and abstraction coexist, are rendered in gentle mid-tones, expressing a fantastic nuance that wishes for the depth of life, rest, peace, and even idealism.”
Lee Hye-kyung said, “I am grateful to the officials of Gokseong-gun for inviting me. Through my Mokhwa works, I want to convey warmth that warmly embraces the body and mind, deep love in the heart, and cozy hope.”
