Shinhan Bank and Hanyang University Sign MOU to Establish 'Integrated Digital Campus'

Shinhan Bank and Hanyang University Sign MOU to Establish 'Integrated Digital Campus' Jin Ok-dong, President of Shinhan Bank (left), and Kim Woo-seung, President of Hanyang University, are taking a commemorative photo after signing the business agreement.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Shinhan Bank announced on the 24th that it has signed a strategic business agreement with Hanyang University to build an 'Integrated Digital Campus.'

The Integrated Digital Campus is an online-offline omni platform that combines digital and analog, integrating three channels: the digital test-bed branch called 'Digilog Branch,' the mobile platform exclusively for university students called 'HeyYoung Smart Campus,' and the industry-academia-education cooperation platform 'IC-PBL (Industry Coupled Problem Based Learning).'

First, Hanyang University will introduce Korea's first university-specialized digital branch under the slogan "Newer, Closer! DIGILOG Together with Hanyang!" The concept is a bank unlike a bank, transforming the existing bank space into a human-touch space centered on digital services for university student customers.

The Digilog Branch welcomes customers with Shinhan Bank and Hanyang University's representative characters, 'Sol' and 'Hairion.' The CX Zone (Customer Experience Zone) is composed of tables shaped like 'HYU,' representing Hanyang University, and offers various digital experiences such as digital financial transactions, financial MBTI experiences, and a digital gallery.

Beyond a space exclusively for students, professional consulting services are also provided for Hanyang University faculty and hospital staff. In particular, a 'Start-Up Zone' is established to offer comprehensive tax consultations and various financial and non-financial consulting services linked with Shinhan Financial Group's Square Bridge for startups nurtured by Hanyang University's Startup Support Group.

HeyYoung Smart Campus is the first mobile platform exclusively for MZ generation university students promoted by Shinhan Bank in the financial sector. It integrates several apps currently operated by Hanyang University into one app, providing academic and financial services such as mobile student IDs.

The integrated application applies electronic ID functionality to replace the existing plastic student ID with a mobile student ID, enabling academic services such as electronic attendance and financial services like easy campus transfers linked with Shinhan Sol. It is scheduled to be introduced gradually starting from the next academic semester.

IC-PBL is Hanyang University's core educational innovation model, an industry-academia cooperation program that connects companies and schools to allow students to directly derive solutions to corporate and social problems.

Shinhan Bank signed a business agreement to promote the IC-PBL project for customer experience service design targeting the MZ generation, centered on Hanyang University's Digilog Branch. Through classes starting this second semester, students will propose ideas for services and content, and Shinhan Bank will provide practical feedback to create synergy.

A Shinhan Bank official said, "It is meaningful to build an integrated digital campus including the Digilog Branch, HeyYoung Smart Campus, and IC-PBL at Hanyang University, which leads digital innovation," adding, "We will establish a lifestyle-oriented financial platform in daily university life with cutting-edge digital technology and warm emotions for customers."
