[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education will hold an in-person 2022 academic year Gwangju Arts Middle School new student admission briefing session at the Yehyang Hall of Gwangju Arts High School on the 25th.
According to the Office of Education on the 23rd, the establishment of Gwangju Arts Middle School was promoted along with the relocation of Gwangju Arts High School, and the establishment and relocation were recently completed. Accordingly, Gwangju Arts Middle School, the nation’s first public arts middle school, is accelerating preparations for the new student admission process ahead of its opening in March next year.
The admission briefing session is planned to be held for parents of 6th-grade elementary school students, including guidance on the curriculum and admission guidelines, Q&A, and a tour of school facilities. The Office of Education conducted a preliminary demand survey to estimate attendance, and more than 120 parents expressed their intention to attend.
Considering the current level 3 social distancing situation in the Gwangju area, the session will be divided into three times on the 25th at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m., with the number of attendees limited to 45 per session.
Lee Byung-kwan, Director of the Physical Education and Arts Convergence Education Division, said, “We hope this admission briefing session will help resolve parents’ questions and increase their expectations for Gwangju Arts Middle School.”
Meanwhile, the Gwangju Arts Middle School admission process will proceed with application submission from October 18 to 21, a preliminary meeting and interview on November 5, and a practical skills test on November 6.
