Lee Jung-mi: "Lee Jae-myung Must Apologize to the People and Agree to Special Prosecutor Investigation"

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Lee Jeong-mi, former leader and presidential candidate of the Justice Party, on the 23rd demanded Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung, who is under suspicion of preferential treatment in the Daejang-dong development project in Seongnam City, to "apologize to the public first and humbly agree to a special prosecutor investigation."

On the same day, Lee posted on Facebook, "Although the Daejang-dong development project was labeled as a 'model project,' suspicions are growing that it was actually a playground for speculators," and criticized, "Governor Lee Jae-myung, who said he would fully agree to the investigation, is showing an incomprehensible stance by opposing a special prosecutor."

She continued, "Anxiety is leaking from Governor Lee Jae-myung's rather confident attitude," and said, "The proper order is to express apologies to the public for the Daejang-dong suspicions and the low-level political strife between the entrenched two major parties that have overshadowed the Chuseok dining table."

Lee Jeong-mi pointed out, "The bold assurance that 'I have not embezzled even one won, so I fully agree to the investigation' should remain unwavering," and criticized, "The logic that police investigations are acceptable but a special prosecutor is not is nothing but sophistry."

She added, "The confrontation between candidate Yoon Seok-youl's allegation of instigating a complaint and candidate Lee Jae-myung's Daejang-dong suspicion is a replay of the double standards politics created by the entrenched two major parties," and emphasized, "Lee Jeong-mi and the Justice Party will overturn the double standards politics of the entrenched two major parties and create a refreshing presidential election where the best, not the lesser evil, can be chosen."
