[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk (Governor Sim Min) is receiving great response for its visiting oriental medicine treatment service that goes to residents who have difficulty visiting medical institutions.
The county announced on the 23rd that it is providing visiting oriental medicine treatment services to chronic patients, elderly living alone, and disabled people with mobility difficulties who find it hard to visit medical institutions.
The visiting oriental medicine treatment team consists of public health oriental medicine doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, who visit homes directly at least twice a week to provide oriental medicine treatment such as acupuncture and prescription of oriental medicine drugs.
They provide comprehensive health management services including basic tests for blood pressure and blood sugar, health education, and linkage to mental health and dementia services when necessary.
In particular, they actively guide patients to manage their own health by providing treatment and health management methods tailored to the patient's disease and constitution, as well as training in daily movements.
They also help reduce economic burdens by providing oriental medicine drugs and oriental medicine patches.
The county health medical center designates visiting nurses for elderly living alone aged 65 or older and chronic patients who are high-risk groups for COVID-19 infection, conducting monitoring at least once within 14 days.
They provide emotional support through welfare checks, educate on chronic disease management methods and quarantine rules, and guide follow-up measures if abnormal symptoms such as fever or respiratory symptoms (cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing, etc.), which are major suspected symptoms of COVID-19, occur.
Governor Sim Min said, “We will strive to take care of the health of residents who cannot visit hospitals through the oriental medicine treatment service,” adding, “As many residents are satisfied with this service, we will do our best to protect the health of vulnerable groups and help alleviate feelings of alienation and loneliness.”
