[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] According to Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, and Sinan Elementary School, the Sinan Elementary School Wind Orchestra won the grand prize at the 18th Chuncheon National Wind Orchestra Competition held at Chuncheon Culture and Arts Center, announced on the 23rd.

The Sinan Elementary School Wind Orchestra passed the non-face-to-face preliminary round and received high praise from the judges by performing the designated piece "Yulpo March" and the free choice piece "Where Eagles Soar" at the audience-free final competition.

The 55 students of the wind orchestra prepared performance masks from early March to comply with quarantine rules and devoted themselves to practice, overcoming the difficulties of ensemble practice due to COVID-19.

Conductor Choi Sang-ho, who led the wind orchestra, said, "I am very proud and impressed with the students who practiced joyfully despite the difficult circumstances," and added, "I deeply thank the parents and teachers who generously supported us. We will continue to do our best to guide the students so that they can feel happiness through music and develop good character."
