[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] S-Mac announced on the 23rd that the home-use 'Space Sterilization Purifier' by CleanEars, for which it holds exclusive contract manufacturing rights, is scheduled for release.
The company is successfully entering the B2B market with clients such as Shinsegae Department Store's Art & Science and Golfzon, and plans to make a full-scale entry into the B2C market with this home-use product launch.
CleanEars, a startup from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), develops air purification technology using fundamental patents related to plasma. Their space sterilization purifier completely decomposes and sterilizes the COVID-19 virus and other bacteria through a seven-step process.
The principle removes COVID-19 virus and RNA-based viruses, showing the same sterilization effect against the Delta variant. It also removes large dust particles, dust, viruses, bacteria, mold, fine dust, ultrafine dust, and odor substances, serving both sterilization and air purification functions simultaneously.
A company representative explained, "According to a joint research team including the University of Maryland, USA, the COVID-19 virus is evolving in a way that favors transmission through aerosols (small particles suspended in the air). Since airborne COVID-19 virus particles do not settle and remain suspended for long periods, a product capable of real-time removal is essential in the With-Corona era." They added, "We are also preparing to enter the rental market, which will make us a game changer in the existing air purifier market."
CleanEars' space sterilization purifier has secured the world's first patented technology related to ozone generation removal devices for safe air purification. It is currently undergoing Class 2 certification procedures from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Additionally, to lead ESG management, the product is made from eco-friendly materials.
