Musical 'Notre-Dame de Paris' Original, Returning to Korea This Year-End

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dong-hyun] The musical "Notre-Dame de Paris," which returned last year with the 20th anniversary version of its French premiere after five years and sparked great excitement, will once again meet Korean audiences with a three-week French original tour at the end of this year.

The musical "Notre-Dame de Paris" is based on the eponymous novel, an immortal masterpiece by Victor Hugo. Set in 15th-century Paris, it depicts the impossible love between Quasimodo, the hunchback bell-ringer of Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the beautiful gypsy woman Esmeralda, as well as the twisted love of the priest Frollo, who is consumed by desire. The work, set against the backdrop of Notre-Dame Cathedral, which was partially destroyed by a fire in 2019 and caused worldwide sorrow, has since gained even more special significance.

The performances will take place at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts Grand Theater in Jongno-gu, Seoul, from November 17 to December 5.
