[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the last day of the Chuseok holiday, the 22nd, 36 people in the Gwangju area were confirmed positive for COVID-19.


Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 23rd that 36 people (local infections) were confirmed positive within the region, classified as cases 4726 to 4761.


At a bathhouse located in Dong-gu, the index patient number 4704 visited with 6 others on the 19th, and transmission has been occurring mainly among family and acquaintances.


Six people, including cases 4728 to 4731, 4755, and 4756, were infected, and the facility is currently reported to have voluntarily closed.


One additional confirmed case (4741) related to manufacturing in Gwangsan-gu, where small-scale n-th generation infection cases have been appearing for five consecutive days, was reported.


This company had its first confirmed case on the 19th with case 4613, and transmission occurred to employees who worked together. Most are foreigners from Vietnam, Indonesia, Russia, and other countries.


Five cases related to testing of foreigners located in Gwangsan-gu, including cases 4737, 4740, and 4742, were reported.


Five cases are related to other cities and provinces, and 12 cases are related to previously confirmed patients.


The infection routes for seven people, including cases 4726, 4732, 4733, 4735, 4750, 4751, and 4752, have not yet been identified.
