[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] The distribution industry has prepared various special events and discount sales targeting the demand for "revenge consumption" after the Chuseok holiday. Following fashion and beauty products, the range of items has been diversified to include luxury goods and desserts, with plans to continue the consumption expansion mood through the substitute holiday weekend next month.


Galleria Department Store will hold product events and pop-up stores at each branch starting from the 23rd. At the Galleria Luxury Hall in Apgujeong-dong, Seoul, the Italian luxury women's wear brand "Max Mara" will showcase its Fall/Winter (F/W) new collection until October 2. To celebrate its 70th anniversary, various products featuring the logo "1951," the year of its launch, will be available. At the Gourmet 494 food hall in the luxury hall, a pop-up store of the New York-style cheesecake brand "Dexter Gordon" will be held until the 30th. Additionally, pop-ups of various dessert specialty stores such as the apple pie specialty store "Red Apple" and the French dessert specialty store "Briand" will be presented.


At Galleria Gwanggyo, premium padding pop-up stores including "Canada Goose," "Moose Knuckles," "Nobis," and "Parajumpers" will be held. At Daejeon Timeworld, the global fashion brand "COS" will be on sale for up to 50% off until the 30th.

Lotte Department Store will hold "Lotte Luxury Dream," the last large-scale luxury discount event of the year, at nine "Lotte TOPS" stores within department stores, outlets, and Lotte Malls from the 24th to the 4th of next month. Over 40 famous luxury brand products will be sold at discounts of up to 40%. Compared to previous events, clothing and footwear items, which sold out early, have been strengthened, and the quantity of new products has been increased by more than 30%, preparing products worth a total of 7 billion KRW.


Toys "R" Us, a toy store operated by Lotte Mart, will hold the "Happy Toys R Us Day" event until the 29th, offering discounts of up to 50% on over 1,500 toy items. The event includes all categories of toys such as electronics, educational toys, and toys for girls and boys, including "Nintendo Switch," "LEGO," and "Sylvanian Families." Toys "R" Us explained that the event was planned considering that toy sales in months with Chuseok or Lunar New Year holidays are more than 40% higher than usual.


Shinsegae Department Store, in collaboration with the Korea Fashion Industry Association, will hold a "Trend Fair" on SSG.com for one week starting from the 27th, introducing over 40 new fashion and accessory brands such as "Greedious," "Rii," "Mua Mua," and "LWL." For emerging designers, this will be a new opportunity to expand sales channels and meet department store customers, while department store customers will have the chance to discover new brands they have not encountered before.
