[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Bo-ryeong] Lee Nak-yeon, former leader of the Democratic Party and a presidential candidate, targeted Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung by insisting that "a safe candidate must face the general election."

At a press conference held at the Jeonbuk Provincial Council on the 22nd, Lee said, "Please let me, who is well-prepared, win the primary and advance to the general election," adding, "We cannot have an unstable candidate."

From this day, voting by party members is underway in Jeonbuk. In this regard, Lee emphasized, "Honam, inheriting the teachings of Donghak, has always played a decisive role in Korean democracy, and whether the Democratic Party will recreate the government in this presidential election depends on Honam."

Lee presented pledges for the Jeonbuk region, including the prompt completion of Saemangeum Airport and port, the leap of the hydrogen economy and carbon industry in Jeonju and Wanju, and the completion of an agro-biological belt centered on Jeonju Innovation City. He appealed for support, saying, "Please open the way so that we can have a working government and just politics."
