[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The Saemaeul Women's Association of Seongbuk-gu (President Jo Young-nam) brought happiness to 170 multicultural families through their Chuseok Songpyeon sharing event for local multicultural families.

On the 15th, the Saemaeul Women's Association of Seongbuk-gu held a Chuseok Songpyeon sharing volunteer event for multicultural families at the Seongbuk Women's Center cooking classroom. Due to social distancing measures, only a small number of participants were allowed, but they prepared Songpyeon, japchae, seasoned vegetables, roasted seaweed, and Cheongsachorong making kits, delivering them to a total of 100 households, including 70 multicultural families and two multicultural migrant women protection facilities.

The Saemaeul Women's Association of Seongbuk-gu is an organization that annually leads efforts to create a warm society by embracing and sharing with marginalized neighbors through regular events such as Songpyeon sharing and kimchi sharing during the winter season.

Jo Young-nam, president of the Saemaeul Women's Association of Seongbuk-gu and organizer of this event, said, "Although it is a small gesture, I hope today's sharing volunteer work will give multicultural families the strength to overcome COVID-19 during Chuseok. We will continue to practice love-sharing volunteer work for neighbors in need in the local community."

Seung-ro Lee, mayor of Seongbuk-gu, along with his wife Myung-sook Lim, made Songpyeon with the women's association executives and expressed, "I sincerely thank all the members of the Saemaeul Women's Association of Seongbuk-gu who actively participated in sharing volunteer work despite the difficult times due to COVID-19. I hope today's Chuseok Songpyeon sharing event will serve as an opportunity to narrow the distance between neighbors separated by COVID-19."
