New COVID-19 Cases in Seoul Reach 437 as of 6 PM

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] From midnight to 6 p.m. on the 20th, the number of new confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul was preliminarily counted at 437 over 18 hours.

This is 52 fewer than the 489 cases recorded during the same time frame the previous day and 21 fewer than the 458 cases on Monday the 13th.

The decrease in the preliminary count of new cases in Seoul on the 20th compared to the previous day and a week ago is attributed to a sharp decline in the number of tests due to the Chuseok holiday. On the second day of the holiday, the 19th, the number of tests conducted was 35,423, the lowest in two weeks since 35,345 tests were recorded on the 5th of this month.

As of 6 p.m., among the new confirmed cases in Seoul, additional patients from major cluster infections included 32 from Jung-gu Jungbu Market, 22 from Songpa-gu Garak Market, 2 from indoor sports facilities in Songpa-gu, and 2 from a high school in Gangdong-gu. There were 13 cases from other cluster infections.

The number of related confirmed cases increased to 93 at Jung-gu Jungbu Market and 363 at Songpa-gu Garak Market.

There was 1 case of overseas inflow, not domestic infection.
