[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Dong-joo] On the second day of the Chuseok holiday, the 19th, vehicles are moving slowly on the Gyeongbu Expressway heading toward Busan near Jamwon IC in Seocho-gu, Seoul.


On this day, the travel time by passenger car from Seoul Tollgate to Busan is 5 hours and 30 minutes. Ulsan is forecasted at 5 hours and 10 minutes, Daegu 4 hours and 30 minutes, Gwangju 3 hours and 40 minutes, Daejeon 3 hours and 50 minutes, and Gangneung 2 hours and 40 minutes.


The Korea Expressway Corporation predicted that traffic congestion toward the hometown direction would start between 6 and 7 a.m., peak between 4 and 5 p.m., and ease around 8 to 9 p.m. For the return direction, congestion is expected to begin between 11 a.m. and noon, peak between 3 and 4 p.m., and clear up around 6 to 7 p.m.
