[Golf Topic] Portland Classic Round 3 "Rain Cancellation"

[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…The third day of the Cambia Portland Classic (total prize money $1.4 million) on the U.S. LPGA Tour was canceled due to rain.

The third round of the tournament, scheduled to take place on the 19th (Korean time) at Oregon Golf Club (par 72, 6,478 yards) in Portland, Oregon, was not held due to heavy rain. The LPGA Tour stated, "We will decide whether to shorten the tournament to 54 holes depending on the weather conditions," and added, "If the 72-hole competition proceeds as planned, the tournament could conclude by the backup day on Monday." The Cambia Portland Classic was also shortened to a 54-hole, 3-round event last year due to wildfires in the western United States.

‘Number 2’ Ko Jin-young (26) is leading by one stroke at 8-under 136. She is aiming for her second win of the season and ninth career victory, two months after the VOA Classic in July. Gemma Dryver (Scotland) is in second place at 7-under 137, Carlota Ciganda (Spain) is third at 5-under 139, and as many as seven players, including Lee Jeong-eun 6 (25, Daebang Construction), Lee Jeong-eun (33), Shin Ji-eun (29, Hanwha Q CELLS), and Su-Hyun Oh (Australia), are tied for fourth place at 4-under 140.
