Director Kim Jeongsuk, Jangheung-gun's First Certified Beauty Technician Emerges

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Seo Young-seo] Kim Jeong-sook, director of Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, attracted attention by passing the 70th regular master craftsman exam in beauty conducted by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea on the 28th of last month.

Director Kim won the Minister of Employment and Labor Award, the highest prize at the 6th BIS Cup International Hairdressing and Beauty Competition in 2021, hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, and was also appointed as an instructor of traditional hair techniques for the first time in Jangheung-gun.

Additionally, at the ‘2019 International Korea Beauty Festival’ competition, she won the prestigious gold medal in the general division evening category, and at the ‘2018 International Korea Beauty Festival’ competition, she received the top gold medal in the traditional hair side bun category. She also won the grand prize at the ‘2017 Jeollanam-do Governor’s Cup’ beauty competition.

Regarding her passing of the master craftsman exam, Kim Jeong-sook said, “Despite the difficulties caused by COVID-19, I am glad that through fair competition and challenges, this has become an opportunity to further elevate the status and pride of beauty professionals,” adding, “I want to share today’s glory with all beauty professionals and devote more effort to nurturing juniors.”

Meanwhile, it is known that Director Kim, while running a beauty salon, continues to challenge herself with an endless desire for learning and is also studying in a master’s program in Beauty and Cosmetology at graduate school.
