Hyundai Engineering-Seoul City Conduct Online Job Mentoring 'Raenseon Jabdam'

Providing Customized Non-Face-to-Face Information for Youth Interested in Construction
Pro Bono Activities Introducing Relevant Job Roles
Active Expansion of Untact Social Contribution in the COVID-19 Era

Hyundai Engineering-Seoul City Conduct Online Job Mentoring 'Raenseon Jabdam' Employees of Hyundai Engineering, serving as mentors for the non-face-to-face mentoring program 'Raenseon Jabdam,' are conducting job and career counseling sessions with young people using a video conferencing program.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Hyundai Engineering announced on the 17th that it conducted a non-face-to-face job mentoring program called ‘Raenseon Job(Job) Dam(Talk)’ together with the Seoul Volunteer Center for young people struggling with employment difficulties.

In early August, Hyundai Engineering selected 14 employee mentors with more than three years of experience in relevant fields such as design, construction management, project management (public affairs), sales, safety/health, quality, finance, management support (HR, planning, IT, legal), purchasing/estimating, asset management, and commissioning through an internal announcement, and held job mentoring sessions on the 15th with about 77 mentees preparing for employment.

The ‘Raenseon Job(Job) Dam(Talk)’ program saw participation from mentees aged from 19 to their 30s, showing high interest in employment and career exploration.

Hyundai Engineering prepared the non-face-to-face job mentoring program ‘Raenseon Job(Job) Dam(Talk)’ again this year following last year, aiming to share information and experiences related to Hyundai Engineering and the construction industry in general with young people facing difficulties in employment due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to help them plan their future.

The mentoring was conducted online using a video conferencing program, with mentors assigned according to the job interests of the participating youth. For about 90 minutes, they freely shared experiences, know-how, and employment-related questions, fostering communication.

‘Raenseon Job(Job) Dam(Talk)’ is a ‘Pro Bono’ mentoring support social contribution program operated by the Seoul Volunteer Center for three years since 2019, where employees from various companies and institutions serve as mentors to answer young people’s questions about jobs and help them develop expertise.

‘Pro Bono’ refers to activities that share one’s professional expertise for the public good. Hyundai Engineering collaborated with the Seoul Volunteer Center to open a communication platform providing vivid job stories, construction industry trends, and employment-related information to young people preparing for employment, continuing from last year.

A Hyundai Engineering social contribution officer said, “This precious time of sharing knowledge and experience allowed young people, who are experiencing anxiety and helplessness due to intensified competition and employment difficulties, to build inner strength on their own. It was also a meaningful time for Hyundai Engineering employees who served as mentors to reflect on themselves,” adding, “We will further expand untact social contribution activities in line with the social atmosphere changed by COVID-19.”
