[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Simmons, a sleep specialty brand, supported living supplies worth 40 million KRW in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, to celebrate Chuseok.
On the afternoon of the 14th, Simmons Bed and Icheon City held a donation ceremony at Icheon City Hall attended by Kim Young-hoon, Executive Director of Simmons Bed, and Eom Tae-jun, Mayor of Icheon. The donated items will be delivered to vulnerable groups in Icheon who are experiencing economic and psychological difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Since 2018, Simmons Bed has supported the Icheon community every holiday with daily necessities such as TVs, air conditioners, washing machines, microwaves, and electric pressure rice cookers. Icheon is home to the Korean Simmons production factory and research and development center called 'Simmons Factorium' as well as the complex cultural space ‘Simmons Terrace’.
Executive Director Kim said, "I hope this will help the residents of Icheon, who are going through a difficult time due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, to have a bountiful Chuseok. We will continue to explore various ways to work together with the Icheon community as citizens and neighbors of Icheon."
In response, Mayor Eom expressed gratitude, saying, "Simmons Bed’s consistent goodwill is a great support to the local community."
