Visiting Local Social Welfare Facilities and Veterans Organizations to Share Warmth
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Seo Chunsu, the mayor of Hamyang-gun, visited social welfare facilities and veterans' organizations in the area one after another to encourage neighbors in need and share warm affection in celebration of the traditional Korean holiday, Chuseok.
At 1:30 PM that day, Mayor Seo started with Yeonkkot-ui Jip (Lotus House) and then visited 13 social welfare facilities in the area including Ire Somang-ui Jip (Ire Hope House), 2 Han Sen settlements, and veterans' organizations, delivering holiday gifts such as apples and pears.
In particular, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Mayor Seo complied with quarantine rules such as temperature checks and delivered the gifts non-face-to-face outside the facilities, while encouraging facility staff, residents, and citizens and listening to their difficulties.
Additionally, the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea plans to select 558 needy households in the county and provide 50,000 KRW per household in support for Chuseok.
Mayor Seo said, “During this Chuseok, I ask for the active interest and cooperation of all citizens so that everyone can enjoy the government-approved 2021 Hamyang Sansam Anti-Aging Expo and have a happy holiday.”
