Chairman of the Rights Commission Encourages Police Officers Deployed to Assemblies... Provides Counseling for Difficulties

[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission announced that Chairperson Jeon Hyun-hee visited the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Mobile Headquarters at 2 p.m. on the 16th to encourage the conscripted police officers and related personnel and delivered consolation gifts.

Chairperson Jeon visited the headquarters where about 800 conscripted police officers are serving to encourage their hard work during various rallies and demonstrations over the Chuseok holiday.

On this day, the Commission formed a counseling team of four specialized investigators in the police field to listen to the difficulties of unit life and service environment improvements from the conscripted police officers belonging to the headquarters and provided counseling services. Issues that can be resolved on-site will be addressed promptly, while matters requiring more in-depth review will be accepted as grievance complaints and resolved through formal investigation procedures.

In her remarks, Chairperson Jeon said, "(The Commission) signed a business agreement with the National Police Agency this year to actively cooperate in resolving public grievances," adding, "We will continue to actively listen not only to public complaints about the police but also to the voices of field police officers to improve their rights and interests."
