[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Education is holding a participation essay contest on the theme of lifelong education vouchers.

On the 16th, the Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Lifelong Education announced that from October 1 to 22, they will conduct a lifelong education participation essay contest under the theme "Learning Energy that Gives Hope, Lifelong Education Voucher."

The Ministry of Education provides lifelong education vouchers worth approximately 350,000 KRW annually to low-income adults. Participants can freely take desired courses at about 1,700 institutions, including university-affiliated lifelong education centers, lifelong education facilities, and lifelong vocational education academies. This year, more than 15,000 people participated using the lifelong education vouchers, with particularly high participation among middle-aged adults aged 40 and above.

Anyone who has studied using the lifelong education voucher can participate in the essay contest. After evaluation based on learning motivation, enthusiasm, learning process, and achievements, a total of 25 winners will be selected. Awards include the Minister of Education Award, the President of the National Institute for Lifelong Education Award, and a total prize money of 3.7 million KRW. The scale of awards has been significantly expanded compared to the previous year. The results of the evaluation will be announced at the end of November.
