[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] DL E&C (formerly Daelim Industrial) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 13th with the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation to expand the Electric Safety Building Certification project, becoming the first private construction company to do so. The signing ceremony took place at the Gam-il Eco& e-Pyeonhansesang site in Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do, which has received the Electric Safety Building Certification, with DL E&C’s Head of Housing Business Division Kwon Soo-young and Korea Electrical Safety Corporation’s Technical Director Kim Kwon-jung in attendance.
DL E&C and the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation agreed to collaborate on developing a model to reduce electrical fires in apartment complexes through the Electric Safety Building Certification project, establishing joint standards for related systems in compliance with the Korea Electrical Installation Regulations and the Electrical Safety Management Act, supporting green remodeling under the Green New Deal of the Korean New Deal, and cooperating on special education for apartment safety managers focused on ‘electrical accident prevention.’
The Electric Safety Building Certification is implemented by the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation to prevent electrical equipment failures in apartment complexes and enhance residents’ convenience. It is a system that certifies design and construction levels across 30 items related to safety, convenience, and efficiency of electrical facilities. Apartment complexes that receive the Electric Safety Building Certification are supported with after-incident dispatch services for electrical accidents by the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation for three years. DL E&C plans to gradually increase the number of apartment complexes obtaining the Electric Safety Building Certification.
