Kim Woong "I Did Not Write the Reported Accusation"
Jeon Yeo-ok "It's Embarrassing That Kim Woong Is a Member of the National Assembly, but Yoo Seung-min Camp's Level Is Also Miserable"
Kim Woong, a member of the People Power Party, is holding a press conference on the 8th at the National Assembly Communication Office in Yeouido, Seoul, regarding the so-called 'accusation solicitation' allegation that he received a complaint against ruling party figures from a close prosecutor of Yoon Seok-yeol, the Prosecutor General, during last year's general election. [Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Amid the press conference held by Kim Woong, a member of the People Power Party, regarding the 'Yoon Seok-yeol prosecution accusation scandal,' former Saenuri Party (the predecessor of the People Power Party) lawmaker Jeon Yeo-ok belittled him on the 8th, calling him "a pitiful person beyond frustrating."
Former lawmaker Jeon wrote on her Facebook on the same day, "Watching Kim Woong's press conference today, I burst into a hollow laugh several times," expressing her opinion.
She criticized, "Even when delivering parcels, one knows what the contents are, but to receive something called a 'complaint letter' and then hand it over to a whistleblower holding an important position in the People Power Party while claiming to know nothing is not just frustrating but pitiful."
She continued, "It is embarrassing that such a person is a member of the National Assembly, and the level of Yoo Seung-min's camp is also pathetic." Kim had served as the spokesperson for former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min's camp but announced his resignation from the spokesperson position on the same day.
Former lawmaker Jeon said, "Right now, Kim Woong seems to be solely thinking about how to escape like a 'law dodger.' Not just anyone can be a 'law dodger,'" and added, "During today's press conference, Kim Woong claimed to be an election law expert and insisted there was no need to consult Son Jun-sung, showing a level far below what would impress even the questioning reporters and viewers."
She also pointed at Kim, calling him "confused, reckless, and hollow," and questioned, "Why did he suddenly switch to a suspect mode instead of acting like a member of the National Assembly?"
Furthermore, she claimed, "Kim Woong's 'complaint accusation' escape incident was, in a word, a 'Yoon Seok-yeol takedown.' But it failed," and asserted, "It will become an incident floating in the air, weakly concluded."
In conclusion, she said, "However, seeing the whistleblower quickly become a 'public interest whistleblower,' I confirmed that even if the country's treasury is empty, some administrative systems operate at ultra-high speed."

Earlier, Kim held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office regarding the complaint accusation scandal and emphasized, "I did not write the complaint letter that was reported."
He added, "I do not remember whether I received the complaint letter or not, and there is no way to verify it. However, according to a screenshot in an article by a certain media outlet, it shows that I received a file from a person named Son and delivered it to the party. If these materials are true, it is circumstantially possible that I received the materials from Son and delivered them to the party, but some suggest the possibility of fabrication and claim that the name was borrowed."
Previously, the internet media outlet 'Newsbus' reported on the 2nd that during former Prosecutor General Yoon's tenure last April, Son Jun-sung, then the head of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office's Investigation Information Policy Division, allegedly ordered Kim, who was a candidate from the United Future Party, to file criminal complaints against ruling party politicians. The complaint letter included names such as Yoo Si-min, chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, and Choi Kang-wook and Hwang Hee-seok, then candidates for the Open Democratic Party (proportional representation) in the National Assembly.
As the controversy grew, former Prosecutor General Yoon's side stated that the allegations were "unrelated." Yoon's campaign spokesperson Yoon Hee-seok appeared consecutively on TBS Radio's 'Shin Jang-sik Shin Jang Open' and YTN Radio's 'Lee Dong-hyung's News Face-off' the day before, saying, "This is unrelated to candidate Yoon," and added, "Having suffered tremendous damage from the Channel A incident, which was proven false and involved collusion between the media and prosecution, we cannot help but have a reasonable suspicion that the ruling party might have an intention."
