Focusing on Training Specialized Personnel in Aviation Drone Technology

Yeosu Technical High School Selected as 'Key School for New Technology Sector Projects' by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups


[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Sim Kyung-taek] Jeonnam Yeosu Technical High School was finally selected on the 3rd for the ‘New Technology Workforce Training Focus Project’ hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and will focus on training specialized personnel related to aviation drones.


Among more than 500 specialized high schools nationwide, 7 schools were selected for this project, and Yeosu Technical High School was the only one selected in Jeollanam-do.


With this project selection, Yeosu Technical High School will receive a budget of about 60 million KRW this year to operate various educational programs such as specialized education and customized curricula in new technology fields aimed at training specialized personnel, as well as establishing a system for manufacturing and operating aviation drones.


In addition, Yeosu Technical High School reorganized its department into the Drone Spatial Information Department to cultivate talent in preparation for the 4th Industrial Revolution, and is systematically operating a club to achieve excellent results in the ‘Industrial Drone Control’ category, which was adopted for the first time this year in the Skills Competition.


Principal Jeon Yong-seok stated, “We will actively promote this project and develop and operate various programs in line with changes in the aviation drone industry to enhance students’ technical skills.”
