Jo Guham and Ahn Changrim, members of the KH Group Philux Judo Team, won silver and bronze medals respectively at the Tokyo Olympics.
On the 6th, KH Group announced that it provided encouragement money to athletes and coaches participating in the Tokyo Olympics and awarded prize money of 300 million KRW and 200 million KRW to the athletes who won silver and bronze medals respectively. Encouragement money was also separately given to athletes who unfortunately did not participate in the Olympics.
The KH Group Philux Judo Team had three athletes participating, including head coach Song Daenam serving as a coach for the men's national team at the Olympics: Ahn Changrim in the men's 73kg category, Jo Guham in the 100kg category, and Han Heeju in the women's 63kg category. The results were that Jo Guham won the silver medal and Ahn Changrim won the bronze medal. They won two of the three medals earned by the Korean judo team.
Although the expected gold medal was not achieved, Chairman Bae Sangyun awarded Jo Guham, who won the silver medal, the gold medal prize money of 300 million KRW, and Ahn Changrim, who won the bronze medal, the silver medal prize money of 200 million KRW. This was a reward based on the belief that both athletes were true heroes who moved the entire nation with their sportsmanship?Jo Guham, who showed true sportsmanship by respectfully honoring his opponent who won after a tense overtime final match, and Ahn Changrim, who reached the bronze medal by winning all matches from the preliminaries to the semifinals in overtime.
Chairman Bae said, "Although it was not the gold medal we aimed for, the process of winning silver and bronze medals was a result no less than a gold medal," and praised, "Our athletes who endured times of effort and hardship and delivered inspiration to the people are true stars."
Yang Jongok, head of the KH Group Philux Judo Team, said, "The group operates the judo team with proper treatment and consideration for athletes and coaches who train hard," and added, "We will spare no effort and support to achieve even greater goals at the Hangzhou Asian Games and the Paris Olympics three years from now."
KH Group signed the asset transfer contract for Alpensia Resort on the 20th of last month. Recently, after completing a new business design competition, they have begun to concretize the development blueprint in earnest.
KH Group plans to develop Alpensia Resort along with existing resort facilities into a high-end residential area and a complex cultural space. They announced their intention to create a destination where three generations of families can enjoy all four seasons together.
